Former public servant on corruption charges

A former Internal Affairs Department worker is facing corruption charges.

Toni Bates, 40, is before the Wellington District Court on 10 charges of corruptly using computer log-ins and passwords to obtain an advantage for herself or others.

She is also charged with defrauding the Internal Affairs Social Club.

The corruption charges date from August 2008 to December 2010.

Ms Bates will reappear in court on 28 October.
