Canterbury will play Auckland for the country's premier rugby title, the ITM Cup.
Canterbury booked a place in next weekend's final by beating Taranaki 51-27 in extra time in Christchurch. The teams were tied 27-all at the end regular play.
Later on Saturday, Auckland beat Wellington 33-22 in their semi-final in Wellington.
Auckland led by a single point at half-time but scored four second-half tries to clinch the match.
