Thousands of people in New Zealand have applied to Buckingham Palace to help Prince Charles celebrate his 64th birthday at Government House in Wellington.
Governor-General Sir Jerry Mateparae's wife, Janine Greenside, and Bronagh Key share the same birthday on 14 November.
AAP reports that 64 other people with the same milestone are to be invited to help the Prince blow out his candles. Applications were sought from anyone aged over 18.
"I think it's fair to say that it's been a bit more of a runaway success than anyone could have imagined," said a royal spokesman in London.
"Within only a few days, more than 1500 applications had been received ... from people who were born on 14 November, and several hundred others it turns out, from people who were not born on 14 November, but who thought no one would notice.
"This, I imagine, is causing a bit of a headache for Government House: how you cut the numbers down.
''And the Prince of Wales is a bit worried there won't be much birthday cake left for him if 1500 (people) turn up."
Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall arrive in New Zealand on 10 November after a week in Papua New Guinea and Australia representing the Queen.
They will visit Auckland, Wellington, Feilding, Palmerston North and Christchurch. Events they will attend include an Armistice Day commemoration, the 150th Canterbury A & P Show, and a performance by schoolchildren of Hairy Maclary in Auckland.
AAP reports Prince Charles and Camilla will leave New Zealand from Christchurch on 16 November.
