Armed police have resolved a situation at a Christchurch property where there were reports of a gun being loaded.
A landlord visiting one of his properties in the suburb of Linwood called police about 9.30am on Wednesday, saying he heard a gun being loaded by a tenant.
The area was cordoned off and members of the Armed Offenders Squad found a man inside.
He came out without incident and no firearm was found, but drug utensils were discovered.
The man is in custody and is likely to face drug-related charges.
