Internet entrepreneur Kim Dotcom is to launch a new file-sharing website early next year on the anniversary of his arrest.

Mr Dotcom, a German national who has New Zealand residency, is fighting extradition to the United States to face copyright, money laundering and fraud charges.

He was arrested during a raid at his mansion near Auckland on 19 January this year and his website Megaupload shut down the following day. Three others are also facing charges.

On Thursday, Mr Dotcom launched a teaser of his new website which he says will change the world.

The website says it will allow people to store and share files in a safer and quicker way than possible now.
