Grave fears held for safety of New Plymouth man

A search is continuing in New Plymouth parks for a 70-year-old man missing since Tuesday.

Nigel Duncan left his home in Carrington Street in the afternoon without his wallet or important medication and was reported missing by his wife.

A search operation began at 9pm in parks, reserves and residential areas.

Matt Prendergast, from the New Plymouth police, says four teams of two continued a search of Vogeltown, Brooklands and Pukekura parks on Wednesday.

Mr Prendergast he has grave concerns for Mr Duncan's safety as time goes on.

Mr Duncan has angina and asthma, and has been depressed. He is described as 180cm tall and was wearing glasses, a grey fleece jacket and dark fleece trousers.
