A brawl between four men in a Lower Hutt suburb has left a 27-year-old man critically injured.
The incident happened outside a petrol service station on The Strand in Wainuiomata, just after midnight on Saturday.
Police say two men got out of a blue four-door sedan and started fighting with the victim and another man, before fleeing at high speed.
The police are appealing for witnesses.
