10:24 pm on 14 November 2012

Police are appealing for sightings of a high-risk sex offender believed to be on the run in the North Island.

Multiple arrest warrants have been issued for Darren Jolly, 47, for alleged breaches of an extended supervision order.

Senior Sergeant Hamish Milne says Jolly fled his Wellington address a week ago and is believed to have taken a vehicle from a Kapiti car dealership.

The car is a blue Honda Civic sedan with the registration number AYT134.

Senior Sergeant Milne believes Jolly is heading for Auckland, but says he also has connections in Wellington, Taranaki, Waikato and the Bay of Plenty.

Anyone with information about Jolly is urged to contact police, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
