The last of three prisoners who escaped from a police escort van in Hamilton last week has been recaptured.
Police arrested Thomas Te Rangi, 19, in Taupo on Monday after reports of a burglary. He has also been charged with escaping lawful custody.
Thomas Te Rangi escaped with two others on 19 January while the police van they were in was on its way to Waikeria Prison.
Darren William Snowden, 22, was arrested at a Hamilton East address on Saturday morning.
Richard Joseph, 30, was recaptured in Tokoroa on Friday.
Police have arrested three people whom they say helped the fugitives.
