A man charged with murder has appeared in Porirua District Court.
Ernest Smith, 38, was surrounded by police officers. He is charged with the murder of Amanda Taufale, 33, whose body was found in her home in the suburb of Tawa on Thursday morning.
No plea was entered.
Police officers were at the Takapu railway station on Friday morning, asking commuters if they had seen a late model blue Toyota hatchback, registration GMB108.
