A 16-year-old is facing a string of charges, after allegedly injuring two police officers following an armed hold-up at a dairy in South Auckland.
The officers were chasing a teenager after an incident at a shop in Pakuranga on Monday afternoon.
Counties Manukau East Area Commander Jim Searle says the robber first attacked a woman officer, who suffered bruising and a scratched cornea.
He says the other officer has a broken hand, but both are now out of hospital.
The gun turned out to be an air rifle.
The 16-year-old is charged with aggravated wounding, aggravated robbery and assault on a police officer.
