Targets for chemotherapy treatment met

1:03 pm on 27 November 2012

Health Minister Tony Ryall says progress is being made on shorter waiting times for cancer treatment.

The latest quarterly national health target results released on Tuesday include for the first time chemotherapy waiting times.

Mr Ryall says all district health boards have achieved the new target, with every patient who was ready for treatment waiting less than four weeks for radiotherapy or chemotherapy.

He says progress is also being made on achieving the targets set for childhood immunisation rates.
