A woman and her two children police believe were kidnapped in Waikato have been found safe and well in Hawke's Bay.
Police say the woman's former partner forced her and their children, aged two and four, into a car in Hamilton before 2pm on Wednesday.
They say the woman then approached two members of the public, both children,in Cambridge, telling them that she had been taken hostage.
Inspector Dana McDonald says the vehicle was stopped by police in Napier before 7pm.
It had earlier been sighted travelling through Bay of Plenty.
