Auckland truck crash now cleared

4:13 pm on 10 December 2012

A crash that blocked central city northbound lanes of Auckland's Southern motorway has now been cleared.

A truck rolled just before 1pm on Monday at the entrance to the Victoria Park tunnel on Auckland's southern motorway. Two people were injured, one seriously.

The Transport Agency had feared the lanes could stay closed until about 6pm Monday evening, but the vehicle and its containers have now been removed.

Traffic is backed up for 9kms from the tunnel in the central city to the Ellerslie-Panmure interchange and the agency says it will take some time to clear.
