All four main petrol companies have dropped the price of petrol and diesel by three cents a litre.
Shell, Mobil, Caltex and BP have lowered the price of 91 octane to $1.65.9 a litre. Diesel is now $1.03.9 a litre.
Shell says the strengthening of the New Zealand dollar has led to the price drop.
BP says its drop is a direct response to competitive pressure.
Mobil cites a softening of market prices in Singapore.
