A woman who died in a house fire in Whanganui has been named.
Ellen Marie Newland was alone at the time in the Maxwell Avenue home on Tuesday.
The 32-year-old is survived by her partner and three children.
Phil Taylor, from Whanganui police, says the fire was due to an electrical fault and is not being treated as suspicious.
The death has been referred to the coroner.
