A man was stabbed repeatedly during a fight between two groups in central Auckland on Saturday morning.
Police say a shotgun was also pointed, but not fired, during the fight, which began around at 7.15am.
A man is to undergo surgery in Auckland hospital for serious knife wounds later in the day.
Both weapons have been located and two men are being interviewed.
