No confidence in Novopay among teachers

Confidence in Novopay has dropped to an all-time low, with the latest survey of school principals showing problems with the new pay system are getting worse.

Around 900 schools respond regularly to the Principals' Federation's review of each payday since Novopay took over in August and its latest results show things are getting worse.

Most respondents (97%) believe the pay roll system will still not be up-to-scratch in a year's time.

Federation president, Paul Drummond, says in November 60% of schools had at least one staff member paid incorrectly, but in the latest survey that number was 84%.

The Ministry of Education says it wants to assure all school staff that the Ministry and provider Talent2 are working hard to ensure this Friday's earlier pay round goes as well as possible.
