Police investigating the death of an Ashburton woman have arrested and charged a youth with her murder.
The body of Sina Solomona, 23, was found in her Ashburton home in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Detective Senior Sergeant John Rae says a young person was interviewed by police on Wednesday night and charged.
The young person was due to appear in the Christchurch Youth Court on Thursday morning.
Detective Senior Sergeant Rae says enquiries are continuing at a number of sites of interest and a number of items relevant to the investigation were located during searches on Wednesday.
Forensic examination at the Cass Street scene is continuing.
Ms Solomona's body was released to her family on Wednesday.
