Police are appealing for sightings of a Nelson man who went missing from the acute mental health unit at Nelson Hospital on Wednesday.
The last known sighting of Oliver James Adams, 24, was on Thursday, when he was given a ride to Tahunanui by a friend.
Mr Adams is solidly built, 1.86m tall, with short brown hair and brown eyes.
He was wearing grey shorts, a dark blue T-shirt and white sneakers. He is believed to have a small back pack and other T-shirts with him.
The police and Mr Adams' family hold fears for his safety and urge anyone who has information on his whereabouts to contact the Nelson station on (03) 546 3840 immediately.
