A road is closed in southern Hawke's Bay after a collision between a car and a truck on State Highway 50 on Monday morning.
The ambulance service says the driver of the car died.
The police say there's a road closure at the intersection of Snee Road and State Highway 50 in Takapau.
Police say a diversion is in place.
