Rich history of Molesworth Station route explained

3:19 pm on 28 December 2012

The road through Molesworth Station in Marlborough has reopened for the summer and this year includes sites displaying historical information.

The Department of Conservation (DoC) has put up interpretation panels in shelters at more than 10 sites along the Acheron and Tophouse Roads.

DoC says the panel displays explain the area's rich history, including it being used as a Maori and early European travel route.

The road is open longer than usual this year, from 28 December to 7pm on Easter Monday, 8 April.
