Three people died on New Zealand roads on Saturday.

A road near Bluff was closed for several hours after a woman died when the car she was travelling in collided with a truck.

On Saturday evening a man died after a motorcycle crash in South Wairarapa.

The police say two motorcyclists were riding down Lake Ferry Road, when the crash occurred.

Acting Sergeant Celia Donaldson says the police can't confirm whether speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.

And one person has died, and four people have been injured in a two-car crash on State Highway 7 at Hurunui.

Police say the crash happened at the intersection with Hurunui Bluff Road shortly after 7pm.

The injured people have been airlifted and taken by ambulance to Christchurch Hospital.
