A Wellington marine centre attacked by vandals a week ago will open its doors again on Sunday.
Up to 80 fish at the Island Bay Marine Education Centre were fatally poisoned when pool treatment tablets were dropped into an outdoor storage tank.
The tank is now padlocked, and a Wellington couple have offered to pay for other security measures.
Discovery project manager Julian Hodge says many people have donated local marine life such as paua, sea anemones, fish and even a shark.
Mr Hodge says $6500 has also been donated to a reward fund set up to help police find the offender and the centre has been overwhelmed by the support.
