Swimming at Nelson's most popular beach is banned due to sewage overflows following this week's heavy rain.
Tahunanui Beach and the Monaco Boat Ramp are closed to swimmers until Friday after sewage from two pump stations overflowed into the Waimea Inlet.
Nelson City Council said the ban is a precaution.
