Hundreds turn out to meet tennis great

More than 300 people turned out in Christchurch on Wednesday for a chance to meet tennis great Andre Agassi.

The American is the first men's singles player to win all four grand slam titles - the US, French and Australian Opens and at Wimbledon.

The Olympic gold medalist was at a mall in the suburb of Linwood to sign copies of his autobiography Open.

Agassi, 41, who is married to former tennis championSteffi Graf,is in New Zealand for the book signing and to attend gala dinners in Christchurch and Auckland.

Fan Chris Hodson said he watched Agassi win at Wimbeldon in London and didn't want to miss the opportunity to meet him in person.
