Police say four divers whose dinghy overturned in choppy water near Whangarei have escaped uninjured.
Communications spokesperson Andy Brill says the divers were in Piapia Bay, near Kaeo, when their dinghy flipped in high seas 1km from shore just before 3pm on Monday.
Two of the divers swam to shore.
The other two clung to the dinghy and were pulled to shore by another boat.
