A couple stealing food from patients while one of them pretended to be a wheel chair patient, has been discovered at Waikato hospital.
Waikato District Health Board says a woman in a wheelchair was being pushed by a man while they put sandwiches and plates of food on her knees. The food was covered with a blanket.
The DHB says they ran off when confronted by staff on Tuesday night.
Hospital visiting hours are being reviewed and security may be increased.
In other incidents in the past two weeks: a doctor was kicked and punched by a drunk patient, and three teenage gang members were accused of intimidating staff.
