A commercial property developer has pleaded guilty to corruptly receiving $140,000 in secret commissions.

Christopher Green, 66, appeared in Auckland District Court on charges under Section four of the Secret Commissions Act laid by the Serious Fraud Office.

The SFO said Green, who was employed by Bunnings Warehouse, was responsible for ensuring all its New Zealand stores were appropriately insured.

Between 2003 - 2010, he corruptly received and retained secret commissions for referring business to Herbert Insurance Group.

The group's former director and owner, Grant Herbert, is facing 28 charges in relation to the company's collapse in 2011.

Green will reappear in court next month.
