A married couple has been deemed fit to enter a plea at Blenheim District Court for the killing of a Picton woman.

David Adrian Holl, 19, and his wife Janelle Amanda Holl, 26, both from Picton, are accused of murdering Mr Holl's mother, Robyn Grace, at her home on 13 January.

The pair underwent a psychiatric evaluation to assess their mental state and ability to enter a plea on the murder charge.

Judge Richard Russell on Monday lifted a name suppression order on the couple.

Both were remanded in custody until an evaluation hearing in mid-April.

They had been remanded in custody two weeks ago to allow psychiatric reports to be completed.
