Gisborne police have charged a man with murder following a fatal house fire last year.
Mary-Ann August-Akuhata, 48, died from injuries received on 10 October when her home at Tikitiki, northeast of Ruatoria, burned.
Police say that a 55-year-old man whom they have arrested and charged with murder was known to the woman.
