A man has been taken to hospital with a knife embedded in his head after a fight at a party in Christchurch.
Police say the 20-year-old was stabbed just behind the eye with a 9cm knife during the altercation at his house in St Albans.
He was to undergo surgery on Saturday for injuries police said were not life threatening.
Another 20-year-old man was due to appear in Christchurch District Court on Saturday charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
