Police in Auckland say they hope to speak as soon as possible to a man found bleeding from stab wounds in a crashed car, not far from where his friend was found knifed to death.
A man was discovered dead at his home in Half Moon Bay in Auckland late on Friday after his wounded friend was found in a crashed car in Pakuranga.
Detective Inspector Jim Gallagher said they have been able to speak only briefly to the wounded man, who is expected to recover.
Officers have been working with consular staff to try to locate the dead man's family who live overseas.
