5:23 pm on 18 February 2013

Another member of the so-called Te Urewera Four has been granted parole.

Te Rangikaiwhiria Kemara, also known as Whiri Andrew Kemara, Tame Iti, Urs Signer and Emily Bailey were convicted on firearms charges following a trial in 2012.

Kemara and Iti were both jailed for two-and-a-half years, while Signer and Bailey were sentenced to home detention.

The Parole Board imposed special conditions on Kemara's release and said on Monday it is satisfied that he no longer poses a risk to the safety of the community.

Kemara will be released on 4 March.

Last week, Iti learned he will be released from prison on 27 February after serving a third of his sentence.
