A man was seriously injured when he jumped 15 metres off a cliff towards a water hole and missed.
The accident happened near Reikorangi, east of Waikanae, shortly after 6pm on Saturday.
The Kapiti man, in his twenties, landed on a riverbank next to the deep waterhole and suffered multiple injuries from the impact.
A helicopter flew him to Wellington Hospital for treatment.
