Police are concerned for a Canadian backpacker who has not been heard from for nearly three weeks.
Pearce Martin, 20, has not been in touch with his friends and family since 8 February, when he was in Waitangi in the Bay of Islands.
Senior Sergeant Linda Simpson, manager of the national missing person unit, says he had been in regular contact until then.
Ms Simpson says there is no clue as to where he went after Waitangi and his lack of contact with family is concerning.
Police want to hear from anyone who may have seen Mr Martin in the past few weeks. He is described as having a fair complexion and has blond hair.
