Former Dominion Finance director dies

A former director of the failed finance company, Dominion Finance, has died.

Terence Butler, who had terminal cancer, died on Thursday.

He was last year excused from criminal proceedings relating to the collapse of Dominion Finance in 2008, which saw 6,000 investors lose close to $400 million.

Former director, Barry Whale, former chief executive Paul Cropp, and another person who has name suppression have been on trial this year in relation to the collapse.

The judge determining the case will deliver his ruling on 12 April.

Mr Butler's funeral will be held on Wednesday.
