Supercar crowd guaranteed good view this year - organisers

Organisers of the Hamilton-400 Supercars street race say spectator numbers at the three-day event, which starts on Friday, have been reduced to allow for better viewing.

A maximum of 50,000 people will be allowed through the gates each day, 10,000 fewer than last year.

Last year, people seated in the main stand could not see the cars racing past.

Race promoter Dean Calvert says with limited space at the street circuit in 2008, the event struggled under the numbers attending and everyone in the stands this year is guaranteed a good view of the track.
