MetService is warning people in southern Fiordland to prepare for heavy rain in the next two days.
The agency has issued a severe weather warning saying up to 20cm of rain is expected to fall there on Monday and Tuesday.
It says Stewart Island and Southland may also have heavy falls of up to 10cm.
People in these areas are advised to check their latest forecasts.
