Police have recovered the body of a woman from a car that was driven off the Panmure Wharf in Auckland.
Emergency services were alerted about 8.30pm on Wednesday that a car had been seen driving off the wharf at Kings Road and into the Tamaki River.
Witnesses reported that there was at least one person in the vehicle.
Police, ambulance and Westpac Rescue helicopter staff could find no trace of the car on Wednesday night.
A police dive squad located the car on Thursday morning.
