6:44 pm on 23 April 2013

Immigration New Zealand are reviewing the file of a tramper who had been missing in Kahurangi National Park.

Acting general manager Marie Sullivan said on Tuesday that Guy Verschuur, 51, first arrived in New Zealand in December 2002 and is now a resident.

Ms Sullivan said they can't say any more, due to privacy reasons.

Mr Verschuur and two female trampers were found at the Anatoki Forks Hut in the national park at the top of the South Island on Monday afternoon by a search and rescue team.

They had been missing in the bush for seven days.

The trio were due back from a three-day tramp on 15 April, but police were only made aware that they were missing on Sunday.

Police have been interviewing them on Tuesday.
