Starplus Homes goes into liquidation

4:52 pm on 23 April 2013

A Hamilton-based home building company believed to owe millions of dollars has gone into liquidation.

Starplus Homes, which started in 2007 and built homes in Waikato and South Auckland, stopped trading three weeks ago.

One of its biggest creditors, Mitre 10 in Hamilton, is owed more than $1 million.

Starplus also owes money to other suppliers and construction companies.

Mitre 10 was planning to go to the High Court to ask that a liquidator be appointed, but one has been named on Tuesday and this takes effect immediately.

The liquidator is John Buchanan from Northside Insolvency Ltd in Auckland.

Starplus is owned by Richard Zongyan Lee, the company's only shareholder.
