A man has died after drowning at a popular Auckland swimming spot.
Police say the 20-year-old was crossing the front of the Hunua Falls when he slipped and fell into deep water at the foot of the falls at 2.45pm on Thursday.
They say the man was pulled from the water unconscious a short time later.
Attempts to resuscitate him by a passing nurse and paramedics were unsuccessful.
