A New Zealand artist has had seven paintings selected for the BBC Wildlife Artist of the year competition.

The works by Tanya Lock, who is now living in Britain, are on a shortlist of 122 paintings chosen from more than 1400 submissions.

The Wiltshire-based artist won the Frozen Planet section of the competition last year with her Icy Swim painting of penguins.
