Police admit there are problems with new speed cameras and have waived more than 100 speeding tickets.
The digital cameras were introduced in January and have photographed almost 78,000 vehicles. The owners of 38,000 vehicles have been issued with infringement notices.
In April, camera operators reported that large vehicles could reflect the radar, doubling their speed and giving an inaccurate reading.
Road policing acting national manager Peter McKay says as a result, police have stopped processing speed camera infringements for trucks, buses and vans.
Inspector McKay says police have waived 133 tickets as a precaution and a further 10 after they proved inaccurate.
Mr McKay is confident police will have the matter resolved in several weeks.
