NZ meat on move in China

New Zealand meat stuck on wharves in China is now moving into the domestic market.

Chinese customs officials had refused to clear deliveries of the meat due to confusion about a name change on documentation.

Primary Industries Minister Nathan Guy on Thursday confirmed that the first shipments have been collected from the wharf.

He says the backlog, which has been waiting for at least two weeks, has begun clearing.

Mr Guy says New Zealand officials are working with Chinese authorities on options for new meat export certifications.
