More feedback sought from Aucklanders

9:27 pm on 1 June 2013

Aucklanders are being urged to voice their opinion on the Auckland Council's 30-year plan, despite the deadline for feedback closing on Friday.

More than 6,000 Aucklanders made submissions on an early version of the Unitary Plan over the past three months.

The sometimes rowdy debates at public meetings focused on multi-storeyed housing in suburbs, and scepticism that Auckland's population will grow by 1 million in 30 years.

Auckland councillor for Orakei, Cameron Brewer, says the deputy mayor has promised all late submissions will be received, heard and acknowledged.

A draft version of the plan is expected to be completed by October.
