France too good for the Blues

France has its first win of its New Zealand rugby tour, beating the Blues 38-15 at North Harbour Stadium on Tuesday night.

After a closely contested first half, the French ran away with the game early in the second.

The 10,000 fans weren't treated to much of a spectacle in the first 40 minutes, with France's 12 points coming off the boot of Jean Marc Doussain, while Baden Kerr added a lone penalty for the Blues.

However, the French attack sparked to life early in the second spell, with three quick tries including two to Fijian born winger Noa Nakaitaci and one to centre Gael Fickou.

The Blues responded with a try from captain James Parsons and one for wing George Moala.

But any hopes of a comeback were extinguished when French prop Benjamin Kayser went over for a try.

The All Blacks play France in the second test in Christchurch on Saturday night.
