Two people appeared in court in Tauranga on Tuesday on charges relating to events that included the discovery of a woman's body outside a hospital in Matamata in April.
Jovaan Graham, 18, was found by security staff at 4am on 3 April.
Police believe her death is linked to a series of events including a car crash in the Kaimai Ranges.
Thomas McDonald, 30, and Cheyanne McCausland, 23, were in the District Court in Tauranga charged with aggravated robbery, kidnap, injuring with intent and stealing a car.
The case will return to court next week.
