Police believe a home invasion at a property on the West Coast last week was not a random attack.
A property in Fox River was targeted by armed intruders on 19 June. The intruders disguised their appearance and detained the couple for some time.
Police have interviewed both victims and a crime scene examination has been completed.
Officers want to speak to anyone who travelled along State Highway 6 between Punakaiki and Charleston on the night of the attack.
